Pradeep Walia has had times of success and times of struggle throughout his life. He lived through three recessions, but regardless of the hardship, he has managed to bounce back every time. Pradeep Walia came to the United States seeking education and career success. He graduated from Slippery Rock University. After that, he started his own business, Atlas Software. He then graduated from CMU with his Master’s in Business Administration. After completing his desired studies and beginning his career, he then worked in the nonprofit sector for several years. This allowed him to become active in philanthropy.
After being able to give back to a community Pradeep Walia loved, he launched Jimba. Jimba is an NGO in India. He started a few others as well through a small personal foundation and now is passionate about working with deep learning to help bring healthcare to India and other third world countries and areas in need such as Africa. He has a passion for helping others bounce back as he learned to do and establishing health care in places of need allows him to do that. On a personal level, he is interested in making movies. When he came to the United States, he was introduced to historical films and immediately felt drawn to them. The hero stories told were inspiring to Pradeep Walia.
