Successful business Pradeep Walia has always had the ability to overcome adversity. After all, not just anyone could come to the United States from Calcutta, India with $20 in their pocket and establish and run a successful $20 million software company in less than a decade. However, that is not what brings him the most pleasure. What makes him fell the best is when he is able to show others how to pull themselves out of poverty using the capitalist system.
That is why Pradeep Walia’s current focus is on philanthropy. He likes to give in a way that does the most good for those who really need it. Through the Pradeep Walia Foundation, he launched a number of India-based NGOs tasked with helping the poor use capitalist tools to raise their own station in life. One of his NGOs, Jimba, makes micro-loans to the poor in India and gives them assistance with using it. Put simply, Pradeep Walia still believes in capitalism, but he’s focusing his entrepreneurship on giving his money away to the best effect. Comments are closed.
